This is a really dumb question.. On the MS site it states MM is included by
default with SP2. Does that mean if I have SP2 installed I have MM? If so,
where do I find it on the start menu?
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/create/faq.mspx

I recorded a TV show on to a DVD, with a DVD recorder, it is a VOB. Can MM
edit the VOB so I can remove the commercials?

My last question. I received instructional DVD's. The files are AVI Xvid.
(I have about 50 files.) With MM can I create a VOB so I can watch the
files on a DVD player so I don't have to use a computer?

If MM doesn't do either of the above, can someone sugest a program that
will?

Thanks

On my computer...it's located at:
Start / All Programs / Windows Movie Maker

If you cannot find it in your Start menu...
try going to...Start / Run...enter:
"moviemk.exe"
and press enter.

If the Movie Maker is installed it should launch.

MM is an editing program...to create a DVD
you need an Authoring program...there are
many choices such as those listed on Wojo's

On my computer Movie Maker is located in Start | All Programs | Accessories.

I had a similar situation where I had some 8mm movie films that I had
transferred to a DVD. They were in VOB files. I could never get Movie
Maker to import them properly. I ended up converting them to DV AVI files
before Movie Maker would import them.

I used a freeware program call Auto Gordian Knot to convert the VOB files to
AVI files.
