On as many web pages as I have seen this - I would venture to

advertisements on quite so many pages. =)

While I'm equally disinclined to trust the efficacy of such a
product, when did legitimate banner advertising - as annoying as it
is to most of us - become classified as "spam?" You're painting a
whole lot of legitimate businesses with that overly wide brush,
methinks.
Let me clarify further..
"On as many web pages as I have seen this - some of questionable content
and intentions - I would venture to answer "no" - as no legitimate product
would spam their advertisements on quite so many pages.."
And if the OP wishes to find quality products to do what they desire (or
want to check on the opinions about the software being advertised) - then
they are welcome to do so - and I suggest places like:
http://www.epinions.com/
And specifically - in this case (having to do with video on a computer) --
http://www.videohelp.com/
The real problem here (to me) is that the question asked was a purely
subjective one - and what I saw it doing is proving that as annoying as
popups were - they do work with some groups of the population.
Having said all that - I do agree - I did jump to a conclusion rather
quickly and should have given the OP more options (as I have now) to form
their own opinion on the matter.
