Hi All,
I was told that using a cracked Kaspersky Anti-Virus version, is
harmfull for the PC, as
it may introduce trojan or backdoors. It seems it's Kaspersky policy
to infecte
with virus all cracked version, mainly during the virus database
update.
Is it true? or is the cracked version as reliable as the official one?

Thanks for ur time

No it won't introduce any backdoors or anything like that. It will however
automatically inform kaspersky of your internet provider details and they
will then send of a request for your address via official channels. The law
enforcement agencies generally take at last 3 days before they come round to
your house looking for you, so there is plenty of time to get ready to go on
the run.

Wow, my new Win XP SP2 really works! As soon as I opened your newsgroup
posting, it immediately gave me a balloon message saying "Idiot Alert".
Gotta love Service Pack 2.

....

Are you sure your SP2 is 100 % genuine Microsoft?

???

time to engage your brain...

the supposed 'viruses' in the cracked versions of an anti-virus product
don't come from the anti-virus company, they come from the guy who
cracked the product or someone else in the distribution chain between
the cracker and the place you downloaded it from...

What you're really asking is "Umm, is it OK if I steal?" The answer is no,
****head! Didn't your parents teach this?

Ignore all that lot up there Jeremy, they can't even format a
post correctly, let alone answer your question. The truth is that
yes, Kasperky have introduced new protection methods that will
protect their software, probably as you suggest. I wouldn't trust
them.

And did you know that pregnant women should never have a bath,
the baby can drown you know.
Thanks for ur time

Anytime Jez, anytime.

Lol
I didn't know that my question was so challanging.
It's a kind of funniest message posting competition :-)

Just to keep with funny question. Can The licence key to activate the
KAV software be detected by the company as hacked, as u can download
it from many web site, so maybe this may cause some trouble, like
failure to have the daily updates.

I'll appreciate if someone can post something about how their licence
checking system work, and I'll promise that I'll post more
challanging/funny/dumb questions

Dunno mate, I doubt anyone carse.. If it helps put your mind at
rest, I've been using "shared" licences for KAV since the mid
nineties and version 2.* (ish).. Never had a problem.

I only gave it up because it became a monster resource hog, but
this v5 is the dogs' dangly bits. I've been updating the sigs
with a "shared" licence since I installed it over a month ago

hth.

1.) Who are you replying to?

2.) Who said anything about a "cracked .exe" ?

Ah, my mistake..

I assumed he actually meant cracked by using a key, as most
people seem to refer to a "crack" as any way to bypass a trial
etc.

And in that case, I agree with JF3000 for once, why not just use
a key?

i'll just kill all this conjecture right here and now...

av companies do not secretly embed malware in their products to screw
over software pirates... it's illegal and would get them charged or
even put in jail... any malware one happens to find in an anti-virus
product was put there after the fact by someone *else*...
