Is it possible to upgrade a pentium 100 to usb standard?
Larry

If all you're looking for is USB ports, you can get an PCI USB card.

Note that Win95 has no support for USB. Win98 has some support for USB.

Hi Bas, hi Larry,

That is not entirely true. Win 95c shipped with USB support (it is usually
stated on the Win95 CD). To the best of my knowledge all versions of Win98
support USB.

I have upgraded a couple of systems with a USB card and only had problems
with USB 2.0 on some computers. So, Larry, I would try and get an older USB
1.0 card, as speed does not seem to be an issue here.

Hope this helps...

Yes but this support was flakey at best and required special win95 USB
device drivers which very few devices have.

To the best of my knowledge all versions of Win98
support USB.

Yep and =it= works fine.

Possible, but is it worth? There are a lot of refurbished or second
hand much faster machines around for very low prices...
IMHO I would not even try to uppgrade a machine w/o at least p166mmx
or even better Celeron300A or later ... I would rather donate it to
someone using it only for text editing or something similar... or to
use it for making of it a small router/firewall for LAN or so ...
