Is it possible to set up a hit counter visible only to me?

I'd like to include a hit counter on my home page that visitors would not
see, but that I can review in a report or elsewhere how many users have
visited the page. Is this possible?
 
Check with your webhost. Many of them offer this to you without you having
to install anything. Earthlink is one and there are others. So it may be
that you simply have to log into a control center and view your stats or use
and FTP Program and down load the stats from a folder to your compute.

If you don't have that service from your host you could do these.

The first requires a button on the page but it don't show the stats on the

This one don't show a button at all but is not free like the first one.
