Is it possible to repair IE6 in XP?

Prior to SP2, I had a pop-up blocker installed. When I installed SP2, I
uninstalled the popup blocker, but after doing that, some web pages with
links display the "This page cannot be displayed.." message where the link
should be. I can find nothing that tells me how I can repair it and I'm
hoping one of you may have an idea or point me in the right direction. As
noted I'm running XP Pro with all SP's and updates to both SP and IE6.

Thanks for the reply Taurarian, but I had found that KB item shortly after I
posted. I followed the instructions, but IE is still installed. Registry
key still shows 0. I can't figure out why IE won't uninstall. When I try to
run ie6setup.exe, I get the "newer version is installed" error message and it
bounces me out. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the Comcast
setup software I installed a year or so ago...ever since then, the title bar
says "Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by Comcast".

How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP

To follow up, I uninstalled IE from Windows via add/ remove programs,
rebooted, icon was removed from my desktop and out of the start menu as well.
On a hunch, I then went into MSWord and typed in a URL, clicked on it and
voila, IE starts back up again, even though it's supposed to be removed. Is
there a way to manually remove IE, since it appears I have two separate
installs, with the Comcast version hidden in something I can't see. I've
removed (or thought I did...) anything associated with the Comcast software
right after I loaded it on the PC. There's nothing in add/ remove programs
related to that software.

All removing IE there does is remove the icon display from the desktop and
Start.

You will have to remove SP2 before re-installing IE.
