Task items and calendar items are different types of Outlook items and can only be combined manually. You may want to look at third party software such as Taskline that will create tasks in your calendar once scheduled using the Taskline form.

After furious head scratching, slindgren asked:
| It may be designed to do it that way, but I would also like to be
| able to see ONLY my calendar, not have to look at two different
| things, which may or may not coincide. If I have a large number of
| tasks, as well as meetings, initiated by others as well as myself,
| why should I have to look at two different things? If they both show
| up on calendar, problem solved.
