Is it possible to get simplified event viewer view back?

Ok I hate the new event viewer. It's a royal pain in the butt. I want the
simple application, system, and security view back. I could not see any
method to create a simple event viewer view since the addin for mmc is the
full convoluted crap viewer that has so much bloat it's not even useful. I
want the simple quick fast and expedient event viewer.. Is it possible at
all? Or will the event viewer be a bloated crap totally pain in the butt
tool to use from now on.

If you were on a dual boot, or if you want to put it on a CD from an XP box,
you can go to the \Windows\System32 folder on your XP machine or boot, and
copy the eventvwr application into your \Windows \System32 folder in Vista.
Then go to your eventvwr entry that you copied>rt. click>run as admin.

You can also connect remotely from another machine, but I find it's usually
pretty slow.
