I am using Powerpoint 2003. I used to be able to select legal size paper
using PAGE SETUP. Now I must select legal paper from PRINT - PROPERTIES
everytime I print. Legal size paper is no longer an option in PAGE SETUP.
Page Setup and Print, Properties are two very different things.
Page Setup tells PowerPoint how large to make each slide.
You can simply type 8.5 x 14 into the size boxes there; it'll change the page
size to Custom.
Print, Properties sets properties in your printer driver; when you set legal
size there, it tells the printer/printer driver to use the legal tray for this
print run.
When you do this, PowerPoint will either:
- Print at the current slide size ON legal size paper (centering as best it can)
or
- Print the slide as large as it can on legal size paper
depending on the "Scale to Fit Paper" setting you choose in the print dialog
box.
Can I add legal paper to PAGE SETUP?
See above.
If no, can I set the PRINT - PROPERTIES to remember my settings from one
print session to the next?
Changes you make to Print, Properties will generally "stick" for the duration
of your PowerPoint session.
You can use Start, Settings, Printers, rightclick the printer, Preferences to
choose an overall default page size for the printer; that'll become the default
for all programs until you change it (or override it temporarily in the
program's Print Properties dialog)
