Is it possible to change the monitor resolution using a batch file?

My 4 year old has a Winnie-The-Pooh games that requires the monitor
resolution to be set at 256 colors rather than the regular 32 million
colors.

Is there any way to make a shortcut or batch file or "clickable icon"
of any type that will change the monitor resolution and put it on the
Desktop?

Thanks!

The easiest way is probably to write a macro, using a tool
such as AutoIt (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/autoit).
