Hello, My husband and I are starting a new online
business. We are trying to come up with a logo. We found
what we want to use but two of th epics are from clip
art. they will set kinda on top of one another and then
our TerraBears name will appear over that. Is this legal
to do? Or does this go into Copyright laws?

You should check the licensing that comes with the clipart. The copyright
status really depends on the owner of the copyright.

Depending on the funds you have available, you may want to consider finding
a local graphic artist who can work up an original piece for you. Since you
have a prototype already, the process should go much easier than starting
from scratch.

I'm not well-versed in copyright law, but I'd suggest that you make sure
that to get the final copyright to the logo when you're done. Because the
artist created it, they may actually retain the original copyright unless
they transfer it to you.

Good luck!

Thank you Jack I apperciate the input, I have contacted
someone about what I want for a logo and sent him some
designs and we are going to go from there. Again thank
you for your help. Terra

Look on Ebay. There are some very talented graphic
designers who free lance and sell their services very
inexpensively. We got a logo design and a stationary
package done for under $50.
