Is it legal to Create A Bootable Windows XP Installation CD Slipstreamed
with SP1?? I live in Slovenia!

You'd be re-creating the wheel. All retail XP CDs are bootable. In addition,
most OEMs already ship their PCs with SP1a slipstreamed. SP1 is available on
CD from Microsoft.

Of course, not all buy machines created by major manufacturers. As an
example, my machine has many "major manufacturer" devices in it, but the
machine was built by my brother.

I had to buy my own version of XP and install it myself. I did not
receive a specially-manufactured OEM copy.

In my (and other's) case, when I wanted a slipstreaemed CD, I had to
create one myself.

Here are a few sites which give instructions for creating bootable and
slipstreamed CDs:

*** NOTE ***
All the above methods require either a "Full retail" or "Full OEM" copy
of XP.

Since our XP license allows for at least one backup copy of our original
software, I see no reason why a slipstreamed CD would be illegal, unless
we had no license for XP.

Let us know if the copy you made can be activated. (Hopefully you'll never
have a reason to find out.)

Give it up, dude: Many Windows users use slipstreamed CDs all the time,
legally and effectively. I prefer using my slipstreamed CD to install
XP. It saves much trouble and work later on in the installation
process.

If a slipstreamed CD is created correctly and legally, and I have a
legal CD key, why should I have any problems activating the software?

I'm sorry if you may have had problems creating workable backups of
Windows. Perhaps you need a little practice in following directions and
a few lessons in English comprehension.

I had no problems creating an effective slipstreamed XP CD on the first
trial, because I followed the directions which were given. But then, I
had very high grades in English when I was in Grammar School.

You'll meet lots of people who think just like you do in my killfile. Enjoy.
