Here's a weird one. IE6 is working fine. Good. I go to Google images
and type in 'Tokyo'. The page comes up with the thumbnails, but after
loading about half of the image files, the rest stay blank. I go to
the next page. No images at all. I go to another website altogether.
No images.

I close down IE, open it again, everything is fine. Websites show
images again, everything runs great, I can search on Google images for
stuff. My cache is empty, I'm using Microsoft default settings, I'm
running XP Home.

I go to Google images again, type in 'Tokyo'.

Uh-oh.

felix,
You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK

Possibly your cache folder is corrupt:

OK, I did all those things...

Even used Spybot to shred all the temp folders and the index.dats.

But no soap, the same problem remains.

I'm loath to trash my user account and start another because of the
years of accumulated settings and files.

Tokyo and Kyoto seem to cause problems, other Japanese locations are
fine, maybe I'll have to be content with those ;)

cheers

Felix,
I tried "Tokyo" = "Results 1 - 20 of about 520,000"
Try turning off AutoComplete
Internet Options | Content | AutoComplete
Uncheck and Flush all the options (except passwords)

Advanced [tab] Uncheck: "Use inline AutoComplete"
Click Apply\Ok and reboot

Just a thought ........ Are you accepting Cookies from Google?
