Is it good to shutdown a low loaded server for week-ends

I have a server which is not used on week-ends. Is it good to switch it off for week-ends? Does it increase its life time?
 
Im sure it will save a few pennies on your electricity bill if not certainly bandwidth that you maybe using

Thanks for attention. No bandwidth is used on weekdays. Up to now, I turn off the server. At least, it is safer.

If your server is not used at weekends and you don't use any bandwith in the week why have you got a server .
