I put all the user level security stuff on a database and someone used a
simple file recovery program and opened up all my tables and get all the
data. is it even possible to secure an Access database without using
something like mySQL for the BE and Access for the FE?

No. There isn't a desktop database that you can. If you need that kind of
security, use a server database.

Thanks for the reply Joan.
When I started with access I was told about user level security, RWOP
queries, etc. but never told how easy it is for anyone see the data if they
wanted to. I did a lot of work and lost alot of time because of this. It
would be useful if people mentioned this to people that are asking how to
'secure' their access databases.
