I think, you'll not see any difference. If only anything with the
hardware compatibility.

At one time InCD would only work with CDRWs, not with CDRs. I don't
know if that's still true but you might want to check it out.

Hello
InCD still only works with CDRWs. But I don't know a reason to record CDRs
using Direct CD in Windows XP. Windows XP recording allows to drag to a CDR.
You have to install a UDF reader to read the CDR on other computers, and It
looks like reading UDF disks is slower.

Can a UDF disk be compressed in InCD as in DirectCD?

Couldn't find this option in the latest version ( v.4.1.0.0) of InCD
either...

AFAIK compression is optional feature of UDF 1.5.
So it either is UDF 1.1 or does not support compression per 1.5.
Built-in UDF reader driver on win2000 is 1.1, so in order to read compressed disks you need
to get 1.5 reader, and it isn't provided by Microsoft.
Once I've tried the Roxio's UDF reader update and found it dangerous
(CD/CDRW read errors may cause bluescreen). Didn't use compression since then - but maybe
they already fixed the reader.

It increases the probability that the CD can not be read on a system that
does not use the corresponding program that you used to burn the CD!

If a system does not use the DirectCD 5.3.5.10, a prompt to install the
reading driver appears when the disk is inserted.
Does compression increases number of writes when a data is saved?
