I just found a newsgroup with Vuescan name it it!

alt.comp.periphs.scanners.vuescan

But this group has only a few messages in it.

I wonder if Ed is aware of this group and if he would
consider to talk in it as a regular!

Unlikely, as he (for the time being) isn't talking in this group
anymore, thanks to a couple of VueScan bashers.

Again this story? I am not very addicted to posting and
sometimes I am absent for a while and I do not realize
that these things happen.

I recall that this bashing activity repeated a few times
in the past, its like a recurring flu. Well, than the
more interesting is the question of moving the Vuescan
discussion to... a vuescan group!!

Do pay attention Bart! (Don't look now, but your bias is showing...)
He's talking about *alt.comp.periphs.scanners.vuescan*, not here (it's
in the Subject as well).

Anyway, sounds like an excellent idea!

In there you can reassure each other with messages about how wonderful
VueScan is without having to face the reality of objective facts.

The rest of us here will be spared the daily flood of frustrated
messages about bugs by exasperated VueScan users desperately
scrambling for older versions.

It's a win-win!

Yes it is because I have no trouble with Vuescan with either my LS40 or my
Epson. So I am spared even seeing complaints about scanners I have no
interest in.

Thomas
it is not working in thunderbird(firefox).
in outlook i cannot find tbis group.
i can only see alt.comp.periphs ( whole list of identical one) endings
are missing.... searched for vuescan without success.

It's because your Internet provider doesn't subscribe to that group
(neither does mine -- I can only see
alt.comp.pheriphs.mainboard.supermicro). You can request to them that
they start subscribing, and they may or may not do it. Seeing a
newsgroup doesn't work the same way as seeing a website (which are open
to all unless they are blocked by censorship). The full list of
newsgroups is only the full list of groups that your Internet provider
has subscribed to. There's no help in switching software.

Is it alt.comp.periphs.scanners.vuescan with the alt in front?

It is: alt.comp.periphs.scanners.vuescan ,as you stated.

EasyNews has the group. With two exceptions, there is nothing but
spam in the subject list for the last two weeks. Not all that much
either, eleven headers of spam. The two exceptions are a test post about
a week ago looking for activity and a post I did yesterday asking if Ed
was there.

Might be nice to take all vuescan discussions to that group ?
