Is Dell 8250 compatible with Vista?

Has anyone tried to install Vista on a Dell 8250 with the Intel 850E chipset
and the 8280 1BA Ultra ATA Controller? The earlier Windows Vista Upgrade
Advisor said that the system was not compatible with Vista because the
Primary and Secondary IDE Channels were not compatible. The current WVUA
says that the system is compatible but that it has no information about the
IDE Channel devices and I should check with the manufacturer. I have
checked with Dell but they have no info and Intel says they no longer
support the hardware.

If I get some spare time, I will probably just image the hard drives and
give it a try.

The answer is yes as long as the Intel Application Accelerator is
uninstalled and the IDE Controller and Channel drivers are rolled back to
the Microsoft versions.
