Is anyone from Microsoft monitoring this newsgroup?

this is a open newsgroup
monitored by awardees of the Microsoft volunteer program and non Microsoft
enthusiasts.....

especially the SyncToy bugs?

Thanks

But it's an newsgroup that is linked from an offical Microsoft web page to
where to post bugs. So there must be someone monitoring it, right? :-)

No. These newsgroups are not a conduit to MS.

==============================
This is a public group and the questions
are answered by volunteers. Occasionally
a MS Representative shows up but it's
quite rare. We have no idea if the group
is monitored by anyone.

There may be a feedback link in the
SyncToy Help Menu.

The resources to operate these newsgroup
are from Microsoft as a public service with
emphasis for Microsoft Products.

However all are welcomed to post any computer issues with the hope that someone who cares can respond.

Unfortunately as in life, here too are
wolves in sheep's clothing......

If you have an issue that you can resolve
with synctoy, then feel free to post it in
these newsgroups. There are other newsgroups as well, like Google, PCWorld, etc....

Some of us use Synctoy and can probably
give you some advice or suggestions with
your particular issue with it....

But we are not mind readers, so you will have to provide a question with a little
background for us.....

:-) Thanks, db - I especially liked your last sentence.

All I try to finding out if there is someone caring about SyncToy bugs and
working on a fix list for the next version although it's an officially
unsupported tool. That's basically all...

you're welcome.

ps: it might be futile for a little guy
to get a giant to take notice with your
concern. however, you can ask
CustomerService ([email protected])

incidentally, there is also a freeware called
RoboCopy from Microsoft.com.

According to an earlier posting, it
is designed for the server, but works
on regular winxp machines too.

This might be an alternative to SyncToy.

Hmm... since you started mentioning Robocopy: ;-)

Ever tried two-way-synchronization with robocopy? Does it support that? Any
clue?

Thanks,
Neno

actually, i have contemplated
with trying it out a couple of
days ago.

the synctoy is ok,
but after doing some basic
research, it seems to provide additional
features which are interesting to me.

let's confer further with our results.....

Yes, we do monitor the newsgroup from time to time and try to resolve issues
folks might be having or collect feedback for future releases. If you're
having any issues with SyncToy please post another message.

Thanks
