Is anyone else having ATIMMC.EXE crashes if using custom recording settings?

I noticed something. I think I fixed my random crash problems with ATI
MMC during recording. It seems like the recorder will crash if I don't
use the default presets. I usually edit Good preet and make the screen
resolutions slightly smaller and quality a little higher. I am still
using ATI's VCR format, 44 Khz, stereo, CC enabled, etc. I also
disable that filter feature (forgot the name of it). I have not had
any crashes for the last few days when I use the default Good preset.

Is anyone else noticing this? I am using ATI's v3.9 Catacylst drivers,
Windows XP Professinoal SP1 (all updates), and ATI Radeon 9800 AIW.

Thank you in advance.

I can't use the ATI vcr codecs and import into Pinnacle Studio. The default
mpegs work fine. They say avi's are the way to go if you are going to edit.
Wanna see your HD light go on bright red, choose the avi, vga resolution. I
think it uses about a gig of hard drive per minute.

So if you are going custom, I'd say you're either not using the proper
codec, or your machine doesn't have enough processor speed, disc speed, etc
to support what you're using.

Just generalities, not knowing what equipment you have.

There is mess with MMC-recorder and formats. Bad is the thing, that
recorder is working with various (pre)settings, but the resulting file
is incomatible-incorrect in many occasions. Some presets can be
modified, and are working properly always. No any error-information
messages during recording...etc.

That is probably it. Weird that it can crash with ATI's own format. Ugh.
I had no crashes for a week with default presets.
