Is 128kB RAM enough?

I can import from the camera to the HDD no problem, but lose about half the frames in the other direction

I assume the HDD is fast enough, given that it's OK in one direction

Is 128kB RAM the problem? Has anyone ever successfully exported to camera with 128kB RAM

Disk is defragged. XP Home, MovieMaker2, PIII 1100, 128kB RAM. I've disabled every XP service that I dare. I turned off virus scanning, etc.

I haven't had a computer with that little RAM since my Commodore Plus4.
I assume you mean 128MB RAM.

Get more RAM and a faster processor. Even XP is struggling on that.
 
Exporting back to the camcorder is the hardest task for your computer... try
it with the WinDV utility (after freeing up space and defragging and closing
other apps). If it doesn't export cleanly, then it might be more about your
hard drive specs than your CPU and memory.
