I notice when playing .mp3 files using IrvanView's mp3 plug-in that
there is a button which displays mp3 tags. In the mp3 files I am
playing they are all blank. Is there anyway to edit these tags? I
assume they are stored in the mp3 file itself. Is there any freeware
available to edit these tags?

I like MP3Tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/), especially if you wish to edit a
lot of tags. For editing one single tag WinAmp (http://www.winamp.com) will
do just fine, and it is also more suited for actually playing your files
than IrfanView is.

I asked this same thing a couple weeks ago...I have come to really like this
one...Here is the link and the description that was given to me in my
original message.

TagScanner is a multifunction program to organize large music collections.
It can edit tags of several progressive audio formats, rename files based on
the tag information, generate tag information from filenames. Also you may
get album info via internet music database freedb.org. Supports ID3v1,
ID3v2, Vorbis comments and APEv2 tags. Worksheets technology. Powerful TAG
editor with batch functions and special features. Playlist maker with
ability to export playlists to HTML or Excel. Built-in player.Very useful
interface.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

I have since noticed that there seems to be something wrong with the
IrfanView mp3 player plug-in "Mp3 Tag" button. It does not show the
tags that are in the mp3 file. Has anyone else noticed this?

No, it has always shown the available tags in my experience.
