Friends - I am using a Microsoft Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard. The
"PrtScn" & "ALT / key PrtScn" simply doesn't work. Upon use, sometimes, the
drive light does a quick flicker, but? Actually, the latest phenomenon is
that when I paste after doing the "PrtScn", I get a Adobe Acrobat" icon
graphic? Is this a clue? I have pasted into Word Pad", "Paint" &
"PhotoShop", all with the same result? Thank you for your help! - Bob

Something to try,

After you hit the Print Screen key,

Go to Start, Run and type CLIPBRD and hit Enter to see what you copied.

This might give you a clue to what is happening.

Better yet, drag the CLIPBRD icon onto the desktop for a quick reference.

And.... to make this NG educational for the rest of us, what was the
solution to your problem?

Good 'Ol Flock Key. Its on most of the new microsoft keyboards, and i
drives me nuts. Moral of the story, turn off F-Lock, and ALT-PRTSC
will work

But the clipboard will stop pasting and function keys will stop working. I thought I was buying a Windows compatable keyboard. It was only after MS defrauded me that I realise that MS keyboards are no longer windows compatable. Like when IBM stopped selling IBM compatable PCs.
