Greetings:

When I type email, Outlook isn't checking names to find addresses. I
have to type email addresses manual for everybody, unless I'm
replying.

I have several contact folders. When I check properties, the checkbox
which would normally allow me to pick that folder as an address book
is empty AND GREYED OUT -- I cannot select ANY of them.

When I go to the address book, I have no folders from which to pick
the first to check.

I'm at wits' end, and am preparing to reinstall. Is there another
answer?

Thanks all;
Duncan

Tools, accounts... choose change address books and remove the Outlook
Address book service and add it back. Make sure all contacts folders are
enabled as address books (r-click on the contacts folders and choose
properties, then address book tab).

Thanks to all for your responses. I ended up deleting the profile and
re-creating it. I also went with a PST file (for archives) in the
"new" format. That took a lot of time to copy, but if it saves me
headaches, it's worth it.

Thanks again;
Duncan
