Irratic Mouse movement

I have a Microsoft Wireless Desktop KB & Mouse but the mouse has really
been acting erratic and moving by itself. Does anyone know what will correct
this. I have tried cleaning and blowing out but nothing I try has helped. I
have others that work fine but I rather liked this one until now.
TIA

WHen you say erratic and moving by itself, define that. DO you mean that
when you are doing nothing your mouse is moving the cursur ANd it seems to
be fighting you when you try to use it or do you mean that when you use it
it is like choppy and overmoving, etc, etc.? I fit moves on its own and
fights you then you have a virus most likely, unless you have some macro
running that is performing tasks. If the problem is only when you try to
move it, take the ball out and scrape the gunk off the little wheels, they
should be smooth as a baby's butt.

I guess the mouse must be defective as I replace it with wired mouse and
all is well. I wonder if this specific model has this problem as it is not
that old. I guess I will try a direct replacement and see what happens.
Thanks for the reply,
