I've submitted reports to Microsoft, and if I get the same error again a few
weeks later, the past report will say ''resolution found'', but when I click
that it says ''the error is still being researched''. What gives?

Anyway, I'm sure one of my pieces of hardware is causing the stop error, but
haven't figured out what yet. I have a Belkin Wireless Internet USB Adapter
(802.11b), a Turtle Beach Rivera PCI Sound Card, and Intel Integrated
Graphics. I'm pretty sure its one of the first 2. Neither of them were
Windows XP Certified.

I was being bugged by one of those. It turned out to be a very
slightly flaky ram chip.

I came to suspect the ram and swapped it for other reasons--and I
haven't seen the stop error since.
