I have a system running Windows XP Pro and it came with this software
installed so I haven't done an upgrade from 98 or anything. I've read
a lot of posts about this error...but none seem to fit my problem. It
happens when my computer sits idle for 10-15 minutes. I can sit here
all day and use it and never have a problem. But as soon as I leave my
office for 10-15 minutes, I come back and have the
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL stop error on my screen. It doesn't give a
driver that causes the problem or anything. I've disabled my screen
saver and all of the power settings that turn things off after a
certain amount of time such as the monitor and hard disks. If anyone
has any idea what could be causing this I'd appreciate help. I haven't
added any new hardware, and didn't notice it happen soon after new
software installation. One thing that did happen is before I unchecked
the box for automatically restart on system failure, it would be
restarted when I got back to my desk, but when I logged back in the
Microsoft OCA would say there was a possible Windows conflict with the
Intel Storage Device. However, I have no idea what this is because the
only Intel things that are in the device manager are the Intel
graphics controller, Intel Ultra ATA controller, Intel network card,
the processor, and the USB controllers. None are storage devices....I
have also disconnected all cables and memory from the motherboard and
put them back in. Here are the specs....
Ideas.....
Thanks,
