Okay this is about to drive me to tears...
I have XP Home on a SOYO MB w/P4 1.8Ghz CPU/512MB RAM box
After getting the DRIVER_IRQL_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL error over and over after
installing a Linksys 802.11g PCI card and Linksys being less than helpful I
took the card back and got a Microsoft 802.11g PCI card... lo and behold,
the problems continued!!
With the linksys card the error referred to a file bcmwl5.sys, with the MS
card it refers to a file mn720-50.sys.
So...
1) I've reinstalled XP... same problem occurs
2) Managed to update XP with all fixes/SP1 etc... same problem occurs
3) Checked that ALL drivers are signed (sigverify)... they are but problem
STILL occurs
4) Completed an intensive memory test on my RAM... guess what... yep, same
problem
5) No, the CPU is not overheating
Okay, now what?? The drivers are up-to-date; the card is not sharing IRQs
with any other hardware; I've moved the cards around to no avail...
I am going absolutely nuts with this and am about to just dump the MB/CPU
to the highest bidder!!
ANYBODY GOT ANY IDEAS???????
Thanks,
Mark
