IRQ assignment/sharing and graphics performance

My computer insists on sharing IRQ 9, which my AGP video card uses, with
several other devices (Linksys ethernet card, PCI to USB universal host
controller, two "IRQ holders"). It doesn't seem to matter into which PCI
slot I place my ethernet card; it always gets assigned to the same IRQ. My
system doesn't allow for manual reassigning.

How much impact - if any - is this going to have on my video card's
performance? It seems to me (certainly no expert) that it would be best to
give resource heavy peripherals like graphics cards their own IRQ, or at
least share them with devices that aren't very demanding or likely to be in
use at the same time. An ethernet card, in my mind, does not really meet
that description, but it's difficult to argue with the BIOS.

With modern systems and WinXP there's no real worry.You don't give a
lot of info e.g mother board make/model and O/S used?
