IPSec and RD?

Is IPSec similar to SSH in anyway? Is it something that could be used between to XP Pro machines that runs RD ?
 
IPSec is a Virtual Private Networking (VPN) method. So, yes its like SSH in that it sets up an
encrypted and secure data link...

Note that you can run Remote Desktop either through a VPN tunnel or outside a VPN tunnel. The Remote
Desktop data stream is encrypted natively...

IPSec stands for IP Security and is used in L2TP-based VPN's...

Take a look at http://www.process.com/tcpip/sshvsvpn.pdf for a
discussion of IPSec L2TP VPN's with a SSH tunneled connection.
