IPPCAT.EXE backdoor virus detected

When scanning the hard drive for viruses via McAfee, a
backdoor virus keeps popping up that is attached to the
file 'C:\WINNT\System32\ippcat.exe'. I can't delete the
file as it is 'in use'.

Has anyone else gotten this kind of virus?

Any help you can provide with the above issue would be
greatly appreciative.

The file name is not a good way to tell what this is, because file names are
trivial to change and can be randomly chosen. You and we will want know the
name of the virus being detected. Then, you can look up that virus name at
www.mcafee.com in the virus dictionary and see what the manual removal
instructions are, and whether the Stinger tool lets you remove it. There
are many viruses that can't be removed by anti-virus and you have to use a
special single-use virus removal tool like McAfee stinger or manual removal
instructions to remove them.
