Yeah......Thanks for the links. I may bother with it, but then again, I am
73 and slowly going blind, so I might just learn to live with some non
visual hobbies. In the meantime, my $150 mini I-Pod sits here on my computer
desk as a reminder that the world is designed for the 20-40 year olds, and
my time has come and gone. Even when I can read the site, finding the song I
am looking for is almost impossible. I have had to listen to nearly a
hundred clips before I found the tune I remember hearing on the juke boxes
of my youth. And the funny part is that the other 99 clips are so Tuneless
and terrible that I can't figure out why the teenagers would bother to
listen to them, much less download them to their portable devices. Have the
ears (or taste) of our youth really grown that bad? I remember walking
through our riverfront park with my wife a couple of years ago and there was
a small band playing in the local gazebo......Can you play that on your
trumpet? she asked. I listened for a minute and said. It consists of the
same 5 notes played over and over incessantly.......If I couldn't play that,
I would hang up my horn and take up knitting.....There is greater variety in
the stitches you knit when you make a sweater.......Of course I can play
that.....But why would I want to?
