iPod shuffle is seen then not in XP Explorer

HI,

I have just been given an iPod Shuffle (2nd Generation) and when I attach it to
my USB Hub it is seen in the explorer drive list but then disappears.

When I check it in the USB List to Remove Safely it is shown as USB then iPod
then S-Drive, but then the S -Drive disappears which is the same as it
disappearing from the explorer list.

How can I fix this?

If you find a way to access the files, see if there is an 'autorun.inf in
the root folder. Remove it, if found.

You don't say whether you have installed Itunes. Access to Ipods is usually
via Itunes.
