I have been trying to install an Ipod via a firewall card
(which is compatible) but the Hardware Wizard keeps coming
up asking for a driver - even though I have installed the
correct software beforehand. I notice this happens all
the time I plug something in and have to play around for
ages to get it to work.

Have I switched the Plug and Play part off by accident or
something?

Thanks for your help.

Just guessing, but if the Wizard comes up when you plug in the iPod,
that could indicate that you havn't installed the iPod drivers, yet.
Did you re-format the iPod for Windows? Then again, if you're having
general p&p problems with multiple devices, I'd try re-installing the
firewire card. Or maybe try un-installing the drivers for your (camera,
external drive, whtevah) and then install the iPod software. Re-install
the other stuff and configure it to use a usb port if it won't play nice
w/ the iPod.

Excuse last post! How do you re-format the Ipod?

I did load all the software - I think it may be the
firewire card driver.

The firmware 'Update' feature in the iPod manager re-formats the iPod.
There's a Win/Apple option choice in the setup process, also. Tho' it
sounds like you got that right already.

Try starting from scratch. Un-install everything including the firewire
card. Then re-install the card, next the iPod and whatever else after
that. My ipod install wasn't entirely tweak-free either, but it's so
worth it once you're in business. Good luck.

Thanks - will do. I am also phoning Belkin re the
firewire card as the drivers are a bit iffy!
Cheers
