ipconfig will nor release or renew my ip.
Can't find DHCP server, this is on a cable modem.
works ok on another PC, same cable

Yes its on auto, the address now is all 0's. I had this
working fine for days untill I powered up my Kazza PC and
then all the light on the router went nuts. So now I have
two PC's that are locked out. I removed the main Cable
from the router and tested the conection with my Laptop.
All works normal. If i move this cable the the desktop
PC's I have no internet. I can not ping the modem or
reset the IP.

If you have just installed Windows XP and it never did
worked, it might be your netcard, same thing happen to me
the driver was not compatible with XP but was working with
98, try updating your driver or buy a D-Link NetCard
($11.00)
Hope this will help.
