IPC$ password

I am running W2k Adv. Serv. on one pc, and there is a w98
pc trying to view contents of shared server. Both pc's
were able to view each other completely until two weeks
ago, and now, neither pc can view each other. I have
tested all cabling, and NIC's, and both check out. Both
pc's have a good internet connection, but when trying to
use My Network Places, I get the IPC$ Password request.
There is no password, and I need a fix to this problem.
Can anyone give me a real solid working solution?

Hi Mark, you need to create a user account on the server that uses the same
logon name and password that the user logging onto W98 networking uses. See

Have you tried using Net Use to delete the share and then
re-create the IPC$ share?
