I'm still new at the company I'm working for and am
trying to understand everything that was done before I
arrived. One being the "server" we have. Many files are
shared from one computer to another, the server is what
has our "intranet" and providing access to 15 other
computers. I recently realized that there was no specific
user for that computer, it was only Admin and guest (I
believe) so I decided to create a new user on the
computer in case anyone ever went on it, they would not
have full access. Well, my problem is that now no one can
access the intranet because a dialog box pops up
saying "You must supply a password to make this
connection"...then it says Resource:\\servername\IPC$
Password: blank (I don't know what this is???)No one can
access any of the files from that computer. The server is
Win2k I believe and the computer I"m trying to access the
intranet from is also win2k.

Can someone please help me??? THis is really important!

Thanks.

Here is my opinion based on my understanding of your environment.
Create an account on the computer with the shared files that is identical
to the username/password used to log into the computers accessing the
computer with the shared files. It sounds like you have a P2P network.
A google search for "IPC$ password" will also help you since it returns
thousands of instances of your question and their answers.
BTW, you did not say what operating system the computer with the files
has but if it is not a server version of the operating system, you will
have problems when more than 10 simultaneous connections are attempted.
