The IPad Has all software controlled by Apple...if it does not
approve of the Software you cannot install....so much for freedom of choice.

I would be surprised if that is true, considering how easily
installing third-party software on an iPhone is after a
jailbreak.

It is true. You can only install apps from the store.
 
How about the fact that anything you want to plug into the unit,
like say a DVD Player, all requires that you buy it from Apple.
Have a Portable USB DVD player already?? or a USB Portable HD??
oops it wont fit
you need the " Apple Adaptor"
How about that 3G network you want to connect to because after all your
already
paying for it with your I-Phone.......oops need to buy an Apple Micro-sim
card for Access plus a
new data plan (depending upon your carrier)
So you just downloaded that HD U-tube video..damn there is no way to play
it on that 47"HD LCD Panel in your Living Room.

Camera!!

On the other hand its lighter than your Laptop/Netbook ,easier to carry.

idiots with more money than sense however they won't admit they bought
something that's completely daft.
