1) in an emergency can i refill the 3ebk from standard inks that i have for
the bci6 black cartridge?
2) will there be much of a difference for normal display printing?

thanks for the info.

I'm not sure I would do that... BCI3e is pigment where the BCI-6 is
dye. Might clog but I don't know for a fact. I have an ip3000 that
uses the pigment black in photos at times and it adds sort of a 3d
quality to prints that shine differently depending on the angle of view
on glossy paper.

You would "likely" enjoy better luck mixing CYM to make black, the
color might not be perfect unless you have an accurate measure, but at
least you'd be putting dye in the dye holes.

Surprised you wouldn't consider a 24hr drug store that carries bulk
inkjet ink.

The BCI-3eBK is a pigmented black used for plain paper printing. All the
other inks, including the BCI-6bk are dye based. It would not be a good idea
to mix the inks due to differences in formulations.

If you use aftermarket inks it really does not make any difference. You
will eventually get ****ed.

You only use the pigment black in photos if you select plain paper. The
printer does not know what the content of the print job is only what
kind of paper you specifiy and selects the ink accordingly.

It is not a good idea to use aftermarket inks. They have a higher
propensity to clog your printer.

This is either purposfully & maliciously mis-informative, or "oblivious
of his own ignorance" mis-informative. With inkystinky you can't be sure
of motivation, just sure of mis-information.

Pure speculation by an uninformed newsgroup lurker.

*DA TRUTH*
