Hi I was wondering about ways to secure my internal network. Is there a way
without using static addresses, to allow a computer or user to get or use an
IP address?
I'd like to prevent non-authorized pc's from getting on our network.

thanks
john

I understand that some of the more sophisticated switches can be configured
to allow only certain mac addresses to access the network. Otherwise if you
are running a all W2K/XP/2003 network you may want to look at ipsec as a way
to prevent unauthorized access. Ipsec uses machine authentication which
would exclude non authenticated computers from accessing compters that have
a "require" ipsec policy. In a forest kerberos would be used for machine
authentication. --- Steve
