IP Problems

Ok, i have got a machine that gets its IP from DHCP but
yesterday we had a new phone system installed and the
switch they installed needed to use the same IP address
as the machine i have mentioned above. So i give the
machine a static IP address.

So now everything is ok. I have exclude this IP from
disturbution in Active Directory in the address pool. Now
i want to change the machine back to DHCP instead of
static but for some reason it is still taking the switch
IP even though i have exculded from the address pool in
AD. i think it maybe to do with DNS but not to sure.

Any Ideas?

Has this machine been rebooted?
Have you used ipconfig /release to release the IP address lease?
Do you receive the same IP when using ipconfig /release then Ipconfig /renew
Check to see when the lease expires when using the Ipconfig /all command

Did the IP address change when you set the machine to static?
Is this IP address bound to a NIC that is no longer present?
If you perform a /release /renew does the /all show you a new lease time
(within the past min or 2)
You could always uninstall/reinstall the NIC if you didn't want to
troubleshoot.
