Thanks in advance.

What is the best way to see a list of hosts on a network by IP address and
computer name?

How do differring segments affect retrieving this information?

You can use dhcp or wins. Go to the server and look at all the DHCP Leases or Look at the WINS Registrations.

Thanks for the reply.

DHCP doesn't work well for that purpose in our environment because I have
redundent DHCP servers with separate address spaces. Also a leases does not
tell you who is on the network "NOW". It tells you who still has a lease.

WINS works if there is only one "owner". You then have to sort by Active
state, and wade through redundent entries due to WINS type.

Isn't there another way to view who is on the network by IP address and
computer name?
