i am replacing an nt server on a tcp/ip lan with a 2000
and need to set it's ip address to that of the former
server but the wizard does not seem to allow address's
only names. is there a simple way to do this?

check your wins or dns for records that have the name of the old server.

you could create a hosts. file entry for that ip with a name.
