Define "use an IP address to search for a website". If it means "use an IP
address in a URL entered into my web browser", then (a) there's no "searching"
actually going on at all, and (b) how much faster it will be will vary. (It
could be tens of seconds faster, or not noticably faster at all, depending
from the particular domain name.)

Not necessarily, because many websites cannot be accessed by it IP address
because the site uses a host header and cannot be accessed without a host
name.

Kevin,
is the host header defined in DNS or in the domain name hosting site
? Currently my domain name is hosted in network solution but its dns
hosting in other server. Once there was a setting mistake in the
domain name hosted in network solution about the name server then i
was not able to contact my domain using host name but only ip address.
How could this possible ?

Regards,
Daniel

The host header is defined on the web server itself, if it uses a host
header. If you were able to connect to your website by its IP address then
it is not a host header site.
