I have recently changed the settings on my Laptop where
the Laptop once belonged to a Domain and I removed the
domain and added the laptop to a Workgroup.

Before I did this I was able to access the internet.
After I removed the domain I was unable to access the
internet.

I proceeded to check the IP address by typing in ipconfig
and it shows that the ip address is 0.0.0.0.0 I then
tried ipconfig/renew and that did not seem to work. I am
convinced the reason I cannot access the internet any
longer is becuase I changed the domain. I cannot reset
the domain because i know longer work at that location
and do not need to access this domain. Does anyone have
an idean what may be going on?

Please help. Thanx in Advance.

Mike

you need a dhcp server to assign your computer an IP address. If you don't
have a dhcp server than you have to set up the ip address manually under
your network settings.

Look at the IP address settings on other computers that belong to the same
workgroup to get an idea of how to set up your IP.

good luck

Thanks I will try this.
