IP address problem

I work at a school district where each school site has
their own domain. I am in the high school and for some
reason I have to assign some of the computers here a
static IP address because the current dynamic ip address
have trouble connecting to the main dns server which is at
the district office. These specific IP address enable the
client to connect to the main server in the previous week
but now they can't connect. They are able to connect to
other computers within the same domain with the dynamic ip
address, but for some reason they tend to loose connection
to the main server at the district office. Is there anyone
that can tell me how I can fix this problem? I've also
tried to release and renew the ip address, but i keep
getting the same IP.

I'm a little confused. You said you assigned static addresses but you are
trying to release and renew those addresses??

If static addresses worked one week, then ceased to work, you may have an IP
address conflict. Were those static addresses excluded from your DHCP
scope?

No, the reason I assigned a static IP because the actual
dynamic IP address which DHCP assigned to the client
computer didn't allow me to connect to the server at the
district office. So by assigning the static address I was
able to connect. I'm just wonder why the dhcp assigned
address didn't connect me to the server at the district
office and is it possible to fixed?
