IP address missing

Suddenly I can not access the web. "Page cannot be displayed". My cable
company confirms that my cable modem and connection are ok. When I run
IPconfig /all, I get all zeros in the IP Address. My cable company tells me
that my ethernet card went bad (hardware issue). PC is relatively new, does
this seem possible. Thanks.

WinXP SP2: You can go to Start | Run and type
CMD
In the command window type
netsh winsock reset

Then eliminate spyware: See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do

Frank- Thank you for your reply. I tried all of the stuff you mentioned and
nothing worked. By chance, I pulled the disk that came with my motherboard
(Foxconn) and for the hell of it loaded all the drivers on the disk.
Everything is ok now. It also seems that something hijacked my audio drivers
and that is ok now. Again thank you for trying to help.
