I want to allow someone in another city to use Remote Desktop and control my
computer. How do I find the IP address of my computer that should be used
for this purpose?

If you're not behind a router, then all you need to do is go to the
Command Prompt and enter IPconfig /all. That will tell you the IP the
machine is using that has been assigned to your machine by the ISP.

If you are using a NAT router, have you forwarded TCP Port 3389 (or
whichever one you are using) in your router to the internal IP address of
your computer? If you have not, it will not work.
