IP Address Conflict

My laptop gave the message "There is an IP address
conflict with another system on the Network" today, and I
can no longer see my peer-to-peer network, nor access the
Internet thru my DSL line.

Yesterday, I hooked my laptop up to another network at a
client site - and it worked fine.

My other PC can see the network and Internet just fine.

I only have 2 PCs and one hub with a DSL drop.

I have never changed any network setting on this laptop -
it saw the network and DSL fine right out of the box.

Please help.

thanks!

U said you have two computers on your network so that's
easy to fix.

First you need to check if both machines have the same IP#,
if they do change them. Double click on the network icon on
both computers that you have and click STATUS or use
"ipconfig /all" on both computer to view the IP#. The IP#
CONFLICT msg usualy tell you the MAC ADDRESS too, so u
should check the MAC ADDRESS of both computers.

Hope that help.
