Today two of our computers have received this message:
The system detected an address conflict for IP address
x.x.x.x with the system having network hardware address
xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx. Network operations on this system may
be disrupted as a result.
Rebooting the computer receiving the message seems to
solve the problem. However, when checking the DNS Forward
Lookup Zones after the second time that this happened, I
saw that there was a specific IP address allocated to two
different computers.
We have a single Win2000 Server which is the PDC and acts
as the DNS server. DHCP is controlled by a Cisco 675
which acts as the internet gateway.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
